The story is of the Kapoor family, as evident from the title. The patriarch of the Kapoor clan is Amarjeet Kapoor(Rishi Kapoor)who lives with his son Harsh (Rajat Kappor) and d-i-l Sunita (Ratna Pathak) in the picturesque Coonor.

Fitoor as it says is an adaptation of ‘Great Expectations’. Written in 1861 and adapted multiple times. But here the movie is not entirely adapted but more so influenced by the book.

The movie has gathered a lot of controversy, before the release, about the authenticity of the story and historic accuracy. But the makers have a disclaimer right upfront claiming no accuracy and taking cinematic liberties. So that rests the case.
The movie is about the love story between Peshwa Bajirao Bhallal (Ranveer Singh), his wife Kashibai (Priyanka Chopra) and his love, Princess Mastani (Deepika Padukone). But the story has two layers – A hindu warrior with a muslim princess and a married man falling in love with another woman.

Angry Indian Goddesses is not just a ‘female buddy film’ as made out. The initial credits and the first five minutes of the movie set the tone for the movie. Women from various backgrounds and strata of the society facing the same issues of eve-teasing, objectification, gender bias and misogyny, and the way each one putting up a fight and giving it back to the guys.
